Homeless Man Found Dead in Newark
No signs of foul play, according to police spokesman.
Newark Police are investigating the death of a 59-year-old homeless man whose body was found Saturday on Herbert Place, a department spokesman said.
According to preliminary reports, an unidentified passerby walked into the 2nd police precinct to report the body around 4 p.m., Detective Todd McClendon said.
There were no "obvious signs of trauma" or foul play, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the death, according to McClendon. The man's name was being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
Additional details were not immediately released.
