Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in the area of Prince and West Kinney streets early Saturday morning.

Ronald McKenneth, 27, of Newark, was shot around 1:45 a.m. and pronounced dead at University Hospital at 3:25 a.m., according to Katherine Carter, spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

No arrests have been made and an investigating by the Newark Police Department and Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is ongoing.
