Newark to Be Highlighted in New Magazine

NewarkBound will feature stories and photography on tourist attractions, city arts and culture

A new destination magazine promoting attractions and things to do in Newark will hit the shelves in early 2013.

The publication, called NewarkBound, will feature photography and stories about arts and culture, food, family fun and things to do in New Jersey's largest city and neighboring communities.

"Our intent is to give visitors and business travelers an informative and interesting overview on the many treasures that Newark and the surrounding areas have to offer, including music, sports, dining, shopping, attractions, accommodations, major events and entertainment," said Publisher Victor Nichols in a press release.

NewarkBound will launch as glossy 80-page, full-color publication and will have an online version.

"This lifestyle magazine is designed to inform both the local and surrounding communities and visitors about the happenings in Newark," said executives from Newark Alliance, Newark Regional Business Partnership, Newark Downtown District, Greater Newark Convention and Visitors Center, Brick City Development Corporation and the Ironbound Business Improvement District in a press release.

"The goal of the magazine: To provide a unique insider’s view to attract tourists and visitors to the city of Newark and surrounding areas to experience the many attractions and events – some familiar, some not so familiar – is an important element to Newark becoming the state’s entertainment and cultural hub," they added.
