Geraldo to Booker: Stop Tweeting So Much

Journalist may be Booker's rival in Senate race next year

Geraldo Rivera thinks Mayor Cory Booker doth tweet too much.

The Huffington Post reported that on March 1 the television journalist -- who like Booker is mulling a run for the Senate seat now held by Democrat Frank Lautenberg — took to Twitter himself to slam his potential rival for oversharing on the micro-blogging site, writing, “Regarding the endless cascade of tweets from Newark’s Mayor Booker one wonders whether any deed however humble goes unremarked?”

Others have complained that Booker seeks out media attention for his exploits while failing to adequately address problems in the state’s largest city. Booker, however, also has a considerable fan base in Newark and beyond — his Twitter followers number more than a million and he leads in early polling in the 2014 Senate race. Booker aims to succeed fellow Democrat Lautenberg, who is stepping down when his current term expires in January 2015. Rivera is a Republican.

Booker has garnered national attention as a hands-on mayor who responds personally to citizens’ complaints, such as inadequate snow removal. He also gained national fame for rescuing a neighbor from a burning home last year.

Booker is "NOT" loved by all of his constituents! He's a man that creates stories, to have others not focus on the real issues that are prevalent in the city. He has made a complete mockery of our school system, just to get his hands on Zuckerberg's money for his pocket use! Why does people believe Booker in his False attention seeking stories. He is not the great hope of Newark. Crime is higher than ever since he became Mayor. The only time you actually see the police is when there is a Game, Circus or whatever the Prudential Center is having at the arena. But, for a normal everyday person the police are not always around! Yes there is chartered schools on every block, but, what about the children who need remedial help! and why is it ok to bus children from other cities to attend our magnet schools and make it difficult for the children in Newark to attend the school of their desires: Arts, Science, University and Technology. Yes! we see these children attending our schools, but our children would never be allowed to attend their schools in their cities, without paying to attend. So why is it ok for these kids to overcrowd our schools and make our children apply for the magnet schools by lottery?
