WHAT: Stop the Violence Day
WHERE
: Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium, 450 Broad St.

WHY GO: The Newark Bears and Newark’s Enough Is Enough Coalition (EIEC) are teaming up to help put an end to violence. In response to the rash of homicides and violence in the city of Newark, the Bears are hosting the second annual “Stop the Violence Day” at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Sunday, July 29. Beginning at 11 a.m., there will be a rally at Military Park, followed by a march to the Bears’ stadium. It will be led by Minister Thomas Ellis of EIEC and will arrive at the ballpark around 12 p.m. Those who participate in the rally will receive a $5 food voucher with the purchase of a ticket to the Bears’ 1:05 p.m. game with the New Jersey Jackals.

WHAT: Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival
WHERE

WHEN: Friday-Sunday
WHY GO: The music festival will include a range of entertainers performing a wide range of musical forms including those of Jazz, Gospel, House, Hip-Hop and sounds from the African Diaspora; green vendors, arts and craft vendors; local restaurants, organic farmer’s market products. For children the festival will offer games, storytelling, golf clinics, skateboard clinics and a host of family oriented activities. The weekend will close with the 35th Anniversary of the Rock Steady Crew with a variety of musical and dance performances including break dancers, graffiti artists, and open-mic battles. Surprise guests entertainers will perform throughout the festival.

The queen is horrified and immediately begins to scheme, but Winnifred, with some help from Sir Harry, the King, and the Jester, isn't going to be quite so easy to get rid of.

WHAT: KITTENFEST

WHY GO:
Come down to the shelter and meet some of the adorable kittens in fostercare who will need forever homes. They will be available to go home when they are 8 weeks old and healthy, and will be given a date to return for neuter/spay. All the kittens will be up-to-date on shots and microchipped.  Adoption fee is $100 upon completion of the adoption (after spay/neuter).

WHAT: Music at the Mansion

WHY GO: Corinna Sowers-Adler presents an afternoon of Cabaret singing at 3pm on Sunday, July 29. The performance will feature Corinna and special guests from the New Jersey and New York cabaret community. Cost is $10 per person and includes light refreshments. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

WHAT: Bloomfield Bicentennial Presents “Movies in the Park”
