“Paw-litics” has gone to the dogs. DOGTV (the first and only TV network just for dogs) is hosting “My Dog for Mayor!” – the first-ever national campaign to elect canine mayor of Jersey City.
Whether your pup is lobbying for more off-leash dog parks, increased care for homeless pets or just a new dog-friendly restaurant, DOGTV wants to hear about it.
Between now and March 11, humans (canine campaign managers) can submit their furry friends to DOGTV’s Facebook Page by explaining why their dog should be named mayor of Jersey City. After a two-week nomination period, the final “canine-didates” will go head-to-head for the chance of a lifetime. On March 25, DOGTV will inaugurate the pups with the most votes, making it the first time in American history dogs have taken over their hometowns’ “paw-litical” scene.

“Every dog should have its day,” said Gilad Neumann, CEO of DOGTV. “’My Dog for Mayor!’ gives pups the chance to raise their paws for a cause and become a local hero. We hope the local markets – including the cities’ mayors – will get behind their canine candidates and make this the most anticipated election of 2014.”
