$250K Lottery Ticket Sold at Newark Store

In less than a month, two tickets sold in Brick City good for prizes totaling $880K.

Maybe they’ll have to start calling Newark Lucky Town.

Less than three weeks after a North Ward pharmacy sold a lottery ticket good for a $630,000 prize, a customer at another Brick City business will be enjoying a six-figure payday.

Officials from the New Jersey Lottery said a second-prize ticket in the Aug. 2 Mega Millions drawing was bought at Reyes Grocery, 113 Grove Terrace. The prize is worth $250,000.

That same day, third-prize tickets worth $10,000 were also bought in Lodi and Sea Girt, said Carole Hedinger, executive director of the lottery.   

No one has yet won the Mega Millions top prize, which now stands at $20 million. The next drawing is Tuesday, Aug. 6.
