Sheila E. Concert Thursday Moving Indoors

Tickets being distributed on a first-come, first serve basis starting at 4 pm

The scheduled performance by Sheila E. at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Thursday will be moved indoors due to expected bad weather, NJPAC said in a statement.

Sheila E., the singer-songwriter best known for her work with Prince, including   her chart-topping hit “The Glamorous Life,” was scheduled to appear to NJPAC’s outdoor performance space for a free concert Aug 1 beginning at 5 pm. The performance is part of NJPAC’s ongoing Horizon Sounds of the Summer concert series.

The venue is located at 1 Center St.

The free concert will now be held indoors at the 2,800-seat Prudential Hall. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis beginning at 4 pm. Singer-songwriter Joanna Burns opens for Sheila E., who is scheduled to take the stage at 6:30 pm.

No outside food, backpacks, coolers or drinks will be allowed inside the venue. Beverages may be purchased inside the Prudential Hall lobby, and NICO Kitchen + Bar will be open for dining.
