New Jersey is your home; now show that you care by volunteering in the 14th Annual Jersey Cares Day!   On Saturday, May 5th, 2012, Jersey Cares Day will mobilize more than 2,500 volunteers from throughout New Jersey to spend the day revitalizing and beautifying communities in our state.

Volunteers are needed in the Newark area to donate just five hours at one of the service projects of their choice in the city.  Projects include painting murals, landscaping parks and playgrounds, and painting school classrooms.  Individual and teams of volunteers are needed.  This is a great team building opportunity for school clubs, fraternities and sororities.  Community service credit may be provided for high school and college students.
There is no fee to participate, although volunteers are encouraged to raise pledges from friends and family, similar to a walk-a-thon.  The money benefits Jersey Cares’ mission of promoting and encouraging volunteerism through a wide variety of volunteer projects designed to make a positive difference in the community.
