Singer Lauryn Hill Slammed with Massive Tax Bill

South Orange resident is reported to owe the Internal Revenue Service more than $866,000 in back taxes.

The IRS has hit singer Lauryn Hill with a tax bill totaling nearly $1 million.

Hill, a South Orange resident, reportedly owes the feds more than $866,000 for back taxes dating from 2006 to 2011, according to RadarOnline. 

The former Fugees front woman was charged with tax evasion in 2012 and sentenced to 3 months in prison for not paying more than $2.3 million.

Hill, who graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood, is best known for her multi-Grammy award winning solo record, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

After she was released from prison in October 2013, a judge allowed her to postpone 3 months of scheduled house arrest in order to go on tour.
