'The Dark Knight Rises' in Newark

On Thursday CityPlex 12 showing first two films followed by midnight 'Rises' premiere; appearances by Bane, Batman and the Batmobile

Gotham City’s favorite superhero is making an appearance at 360-394 Springfield Ave., Newark, tomorrow, Thursday, just in time for the release of “The Dark Knight Rises”, the latest installment of the Batman franchise starring Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine , and Anne Hathaway.

Portions of the film were shot last year in the city.

In honor of the release of what’s shaping up to be the biggest blockbuster of the summer, CityPLex 12 is hosting a “Dark Knight Trilogy Marathon” beginning Thursday. Film times are 6pm Thursday, July 19, for the first installment, “Batman Begins,” followed by the second installment, “The Dark Knight,” at 9 pm. Then, at 12:01 am Friday, July 20, comes the premiere of “The Dark Knight Rises”.

There’ll also be giveaways, concession collectibles, a chance to see the Batmobile from the 1960s TV series as well as a chance to meet Batman and his nemeses Bane and Catwoman
