Traveling for 29 Years

The City Without Walls (cWOW) will sponsor its annual Metro Show until Saturday, February 16th.

The City Without Walls (cWOW) is hosting its twenty-ninth annual Metro Show.
And, in honor of its twenty-ninth anniversary, the exhibit is entitled the
Metro 29 Show.  The Metro 29 Show is a year-long traveling art exhibit that features emerging artists.  The exhibit began on Friday, November 16th
at cWOW’s urban gallery, which is located in Newark, New Jersey and will travel
to six other locations within the New Jersey and New York area until its
conclusion on Thursday, October 31st.

Emerging artists from the metropolitan area were encouraged to submit entries of any media, any subject and/or any style.   As a result, this juried small works exhibition features art work that ranges from paintings, sculptures, mixed media to photography.  The jurors for the Metro 29 Show are Jared Ash (Curator - Newark Public Library Special Collections), Rocio Aranda-Alvarado (Curator – El Museo del Barrio) and Lawrence Cappiello (Executive Director – Arts Guild New Jersey).   This year’s Best in Show Award was given to Backyard Burlap by Lisa Conrad, who is based in Newark, New Jersey.  And, Exceptional Merit Awards were given to Blue Blood by Vanessa Lucas, Blue Table by Patricia Ritchie and Wolf #1 by Eliana Iturbe.

The Metro 29 Show will be on exhibition at cWOW until Saturday, February 16th.
