Newark Offering Free Flu Vaccinations to Residents
Vaccination especially important for pregnant women, chronically ill
Mayor Cory A. Booker and Child and Family Well-Being Director L’Tanya Williamson reminds residents that “It’s not too late to get a flu shot.” The city provides free influenza vaccinations for Newark residents, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Newark Department of Child and Family Well-Being, 110 William St. January is the peak season for influenza and are especially important for pregnant women.
To get the free shot, residents must bring proof of address.
“I urge all Newark residents, especially those who suffer from chronic medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, lung or heart disease, to protect themselves by taking advantage of these free vaccinations. By taking this measure, we can prevent the spread of the flu virus and stay healthier as a community,” said Booker. “Protect yourself, protect your loved ones. Get the flu shot today.”
