The "Amate a ti Misma" (Love Yourself) breast cancer campaign, launched in 2007 by WXTV Univision 41,  brings together the American Cancer Society and area hospitals in order to encourage women to get this life saving screening. In the past seven years more than 8,000 women have been able to receive free mammograms. St. Michael's offers such free screenings year-round.

American Cancer Society guidelines recommend that all women should have their yearly mammogram beginning at age 40.

For information on breast cancer screening guidelines, or if you have been diagnosed and need assistance, call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.
