Devils, Prudential Collect More than $1 Million for Charity

'Season of Giving' included gifts of coats, food and more.

The New Jersey Devils and the Prudential Center have raised more than $1.1 million in donations for various charitable causes durings its “Season of Giving,” a Prudential spokesperson said.

“It is inspiring to see the care and compassion that our fans have for their community,” said Devils and Prudential Center President Hugh Weber. “We have the unique opportunity to mobilize a passionate group among our organization, fans and partners, and really make an impact during this holiday season.”

Donations have included 21,000 lbs. of food collected during a November food drive, 3,000 toys for the Toys for Tots program, 3,000 coats for the Jersey Cares coat drive, $60,000 for the New Jersey Sandy Hurricane Relief Fund,  as well as visits by Devils players to hospitals in Newark and elsewhere.
