$5K Award Offered for Information on Murder

Irvington man shot to death at May concert

Authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding the person responsible for fatal a shooting at a Mavado concert in Newark.
 
An internationally known reggae artist, Mavado, whose real name is David Constantine Brooke, was performing at the Palladium Ballroom, formerly known as Club Sensation, a night club located at 50 Branford Place between Halsey and Washington Streets in Newark, on the night of May 11 and into the early morning hours of May 12 when a single gunman opened fire in the crowd.
 
Andre D. Henry, 36, of Irvington, who was attending the concert, was shot and died later. A security officer was also shot but survived.
 
Hundreds of people from New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Connecticut were in the club and video surveillance cameras from the night show scores of people holding up smart phones.

Essex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in this case.
