Arrest Warrant Issued for Alleged Double-Shooter

Latham considered armed and dangerous

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department said Tuesday that an arrest warrant has been issued for a city man wanted for a double shooting New Year’s Eve.

Jihad Latham, 20 , is charged with shooting and killing Efrahim Kinchen, 20, at Broad and South streets. A 33-year-old woman was also shot but survived.

The warrant was issued Feb. 1. Bail has been set at $1 million.
