Bergrin Associates to be Sentenced

Men were indicted for selling drugs out of a Newark home controlled by the imprisoned attorney

Two men with ties to former celebrity defense attorney Paul Bergrin will be sentenced on charges they sold drugs out of a Newark home controlled by Bergrin, according to a published report.

Jose Jiminez and Alonso Barraza-Castro were indicted on the drug charges in 2010.

The men were associates of Bergrin, the former Newark-based attorney who was later revealed to have taken part in witness-tampering, narcotics trafficking and murder. In March, he was convicted on nearly two dozen of counts and is now serving a sentence of life in prison.
