Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Police Director Samuel DeMaio have announced that authorities are investigating a homicide that occurred in a city nightclub early Saturday morning, May 12.
Newark police were dispatched to Club Sensations on Branford Place shortly before 3 am on reports of a shooting. Arriving officers discovered that two males were shot at that location and both victims were transported to University Hospital.
One of the victims, later identified as Andrew Henry, 35 of Irvington, was pronounced dead at University Hospital a short time later. The second victim, a security guard at the club, was in stable condition this weekend.

The matter is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact task force detectives at (877) 847-7432 or (973) 621-4586.
