Man Killed Yesterday Afternoon

Investigators Seeking Information

A 33-year-old city man was shot and killed yesterday afternoon, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office announced last night.

Darius Foster was found shot near 29 Treacy Ave. by Newark police called to the area on a report of a shooting around 4:20 p.m. Foster was rushed to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.  

The matter is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, said Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Prosecutor's Homicide Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact task force detectives at  877-847-7432 or 973-621-4586.
