A Newark man was sentenced in federal court in Minnesota Wednesday for taking a 16-year-old girl out of the state to engage in prostitution, the office of the US Attorney in Minnesota announced in a statement.
Floyd Henry, 43, was sentenced to 100 months in prison and another 10 years of supervised release by District Court Judge Ann D. Montgomery.
In January, Henry admitted in court he met the girl in 2009 at a Minneapolis nightclub and later invited her to travel to Denver. Henry arranged to have a woman drive the girl and paid for a hotel room for them both in the city, where the woman took photos of the girl and posted them on the Web site Backpage.com. Henry also instructed the girl on how to prostitute herself, including telling her how much to charge for sexual acts and how to identify undercover law enforcement. Henry also received the proceeds from the girl’s activity, the US Attorney said.
