Newark Police Arrest Two Wanted for September Shooting

Suspects were arrested in East Orange Monday

Officers with the Newark Police Department arrested two early Monday wanted in connection with a shooting in early September.


Haji Hines, 20, of East Orange was captured without incident in East Orange, a department spokesperson said in a statement. Hines was charged with conspiracy, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and other weapons offenses.


Another person wanted in connection with the shooting, a 17-year-old East Orange resident, was arrested on Dodd Street in East Orange, was also arrested. he has also been charged with conspiracy, aggravted assault with a deadly weapon and other weapons offenses.

On Sept. 3, Newark police responded to 754 S. 11th St., where they found a man who had been shot in the chest. The 42-year-old victim survived.
