One Killed, Several Hurt After Bus, Van Collide
Van driver reportedly entered wrong lane in the East Ward Wednesday
A collision between a NJ Transit bus during rush hour Wednesday led to the death of one man and sent 14 others to the hospital, according to published reports.
The bus, which had 17 passengers aboard, was traveling on Port Street near Doremus Avenue around 5:15 pm when a van reportedly entered the wrong lane and collided head-on with the bus.
The driver was later pronounced dead at University Hospital. The passengers on board were treated for minor injuries.
