One Killed, Two Wounded at Newark Barbecue
Saturday incident on Wainwright Street remains under investigation.
One man is dead and two people were wounded following a shooting Saturday night at a Wainwright Street barbecue, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.
A gunman opened fire into a crowd that was leaving 288 Wainwright St, striking the three men. Wysan Thomas, 24, was take to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly said Monday that no further information was available about the incident, including the identity of the shooter.
