Police Investigating South 20th Street Murder
No arrests have been made in shooting death of city man late Tuesday night
Police are investigating the shooting death of a 40-year-old Newark man Tuesday night.
Tie Hawthorn was shot multiple times at around 11:30 p.m. in the 900 block of S. 20th St. near Westervelt Place in Newark, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. He was pronounced dead at 12:08 a.m. at University Hospital.
No arrests have been made at this time. An investigation by the Newark Police Department and Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is active and ongoing.
