Reward Offered for Info on Newark Murder

18-year-old slain Monday night

The Crimestoppers program is offering an award of up to $5,000 for information leading to arrests in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old Newark man Monday, July 9, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura has announced.

Dorian Barber, 18, was shot and killed around 8 pm as he stood at the intersection of Avon Avenue and Badger Street. 

Persons with information about the crime are asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force at 973-621-4586 or the Prosecutor’s Tips Line at 1-877-847-7432.
