Reward Offered for Information on Hit-and-Run

Three seriously hurt Dec. 16

The Crimestoppers program of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in the investigation of a hit-and-run accident Dec. 16 in which three pedestrians were seriously hurt.

The accident occurred at the corner of Central Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Authorities said the vehicle involved was a four-door, black 2011-2013 Volvo S60 (click here to see what the vehicle type looks like). The vehicle should have sustained front-end damage, police also said. 

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information.

Any person locating a vehicle matching the description, or developing any information regarding this incident is urged to contact Det. Robert Parsons of the Major Crimes Task Force at 973-621-4586 Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4pm. At all other times, the Major Crimes Task Force can be reached by contacting the Essex County Sheriff Department Command Center at 973-621-4111 and requesting to speak to the On Call Task Force Supervisor.
