Reward Offered for Information on Murder of Newark Man Last Year

Victim was 21 years old

The Essex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers program is offering an award of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in the murder of a 21-year-old city man a year ago.

Al-Juan Wright was shot multiple times near 25 Irvine Turner Boulevard around 7 pm Dec. 7, 2011. He later succummbed to his wounds at University Hospital.

Anyone with information about the murder is urged to contact Sgt. Pete Cassidy of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force at 973-621-2849 or the Prosecutor’s Tips Line at 1-800-847-7432.
