The Essex County Sheriff's Crimestoppers program is offering up to a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in a Newark homicide last month.
Vince Franklin, 49, had apparently been walking past 600 S. 13th St. in Newark April 2 when he was fatally shot shortly after midnight. Franklin worked in the food services department of New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Anyone with information about the crime can contact the Essex County Prosecutor's tips line at 877-847-7432 or the Newark Police Department Crimestoppers at 877-695-8477. All calls to law enforcement will be kept confidential.
