Sheriff's Officers Reportedly Find Large Stash of Crack, Pills in Apartment

Drugs found at Summit Street address Thursday

A 49-year-old city man was arrested by Essex County Sheriff’s Office detectives Thursday after narcotics worth $10,000 were found in his apartment, Nj.com reported Saturday.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the Summit Street home of Joel Walton and discovered 221 oxycodone pills, 50 suboxone pills and 33 Xanax tablets along with 188 bags of crack cocaine stashed in a jewelry box, Sheriff Armando Fontoura told Nj.com. 

Walton was in the Essex County Jail in lieu of a $175,000 cash bond, Fontoura also said.
