Pair Charged in Attack of Man Meeting Escort at Hotel

Two people have been arrested in connection with the assault of a Harrison man who was attacked during what he thought would be a rendezvous with an escort at a Newark hotel, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, arranged to meet a woman at the Robert Treat Hotel on Jan. 15. When he arrived, five men beat and robbed him, Sgt. Ron Glover said.

Four days later, Newark police arrested Jessica McNeil, 20, of Newark, and Carson Burton, 28, of Roselle. Both face robbery and conspiracy charges. Burton has also been charged with aggravated assault.
