Van Jones Keynote Speaker at Newark Policy Summit

Leadership Newark, which explores ways public policy can be used for the betterment of the city, celebrated its 15th anniversary earlier this month with its first Public Policy Summit, held at the campus of Rutgers-Newark. 

Several speakers were featured at the event, including Van Jones, co-host of CNN's "Crossfire" program and a former member of the Obama Administration, and Modia Butler, who served as former Mayor Cory Booker's chief of staff. 

The summit focused on a few central issues critical to the future of the city: education, economic development and public safety.
