College Offering CPR Certification Classes
One-day sessions being held at Essex County College in March
A pair of allied health courses will be offered in March at the Newark campus of Essex County College, 303 University Ave. Call (973) 877-3079 for registration and other information on any of these allied health programs.
“CPR Renewal for Healthcare Providers” is a four-hour session approved by the American Heart Association which satisfies skills upgrade requirements for healthcare providers and professional rescuers seeking recertification. Upon successful completion of the class, a new AHA certification card will be issued. The class will be held Saturday, March 16 from 9 am to 1 pm. Cost of the class is $45.
“CPR for Healthcare Providers” is a course that will prepare students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective life support in an emergency. Participants will learn to use an AED (automated external defibrillator) for victims in sudden cardiac arrest. Students will earn an American Heart Association certificate for successful completion of the one session class, set for Saturday, March 23 from 9 am to 5 pm. Cost of the session is $91.
