The Newark Public Schools will open at 10 am Wednesday due to the snowstorm that began early Tuesday, the district said Tuesday night.
Students were sent home early Tuesday in response to the storm, which was forecast to dump up to a foot of snow in Newark before tapering off early Wednesday.
Along with the snow, the winter storm also brings abnormally cold temperatures and high winds. Temperatures were expected to dip into the single digits overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, with wind chills making it feel like 10 degrees below zero.
Temperatures are expected to rise by Friday.
