America Works Job Readiness Training and Placement Program (Newark Residents only)

Good Morning,

I am very excited to offer Newark residents Job Readiness Training and employment. America works helps all populations with trianing and employment. Our next class is starting on April 23, 2012. Please note that training is four weeks from 9-4pm Monday to Friday.
 
Job Readiness Training and Placement

Hours (9-4pm), Training (164 hrs. for completion)

Some of the services: soft skills, basic computer training, effective resume writing, proper interview etiquette, mock interviews, dressing for success, etc.

Computer training: how to apply for employment on-line, developing a professional e-mail, attaching resumes to, either on-line applications or e-mails, etc.

Meeting with our Sales Staff: to work out a direction their job search will take, setting up interviews for the customers. Making sure transportation is available to get to their scheduled interviews.

Benefits:
1.     Short term training toward employment (4 weeks)
2.     Bus tickets to training, interviews, and two weeks after employment (if you do not receive a bus card)
3.     Bonus retention check $50 after three months of employment

Process for referral:
1. Enrollment at America Works (please make sure you
have two/three hours. You will be receiving information about our program, application, tabe test. You must bring all documentations in order to become enrolled).

Requirement for documents:
-Copy of State ID/ Driving
License
-Copy of Social Security Card
-Copy of Birth Certificate,
Passport, Naturalization Certificate or Green Card
-Proof of address
(current)- mailing, bills
-Proof of unemployment: pay stubs if working part
time (less than 20 hrs) or if no income you need a Notarized letter stating housing and food taken care of by someone else. If collecting Welfare or Unemployment, please provide whatever documentation you can proving you are receiving these benefits.
-If male, must be registered for selective service
and need proof of registration. All males before 1960 are exempted.
