Each and everyone of us has had a teacher leave an indelible impression on our lives, influencing us to be better people or inspiring us to push our limits in order to excel.
In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week, Newark Patch wants to hear about your favorite teacher or instructor. Send your story to the editors at firstname.lastname@example.org, tell us in the comments below or upload a photo and descriptive caption to this story.
In addition to Patch, the New Jersey Department of Education is also looking for stories of outstanding teachers. The state kicked off National Teacher Appreciation Week Monday by rolling out two new websites and a video from Acting Education Commissioner Chris Cerf.
- Teacher Memory: This is a new feature of the state’s website where New Jersey residents can submit a memory of their favorite teacher, either past or present. These memories will be reflected on the department’s website to demonstrate the important contribution that teachers make in each of our lives, even many years later. Click here to share your story.
- Teacher Spotlight: Each month, the Department will feature a different outstanding New Jersey teacher to recognize and reward their contribution in the classroom. The first teacher to be featured in this series is New Jersey Teacher of the Year – Jeanne DelColle. Click here to visit the site.
