Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark 5K Run & Walk - Day For Kids

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF NEWARK:

For 74 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark has steadfastly been the safe place to learn and grow –while having fun. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. We offer our young members caring adults, fitness activities, educational support, college readiness programs, arts programs and healthy food.

But we need your help. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark is one of the largest youth service providers in the City of Newark serving over 8,538 children in 2011. Our after-school services cost the organization over a thousand dollars per child; however, the school-year membership is only $15 per child. No child is ever turned away.

Please support our work by sponsoring our run, becoming a team captain or an individual runner. Our website will help you manage your team and your fundraising efforts. Every penny counts!

THE EVENT:

Back by popular demand! The event will feature a certified 5K Run and a 5K Walk, featuring free t-shirt to all who register online (http://bgcn.kintera.org/5KRun) healthy breakfast foods and a nutritious lunch, face painting, sponsored activities, carnival games and prizes, and so much more! Lenny Green (WBLS "Quiet Storm") will be attending the event as the official emcee.
