Lombardi Trophy Coming to Newark for Tailgate Party

Event later this month is part of run-up to the first Garden State Super Bowl in a few weeks.

Tailgating may be forbidden at MetLife Stadium during the Super Bowl next month, but the festivities will be in full swing in Newark Jan. 28, courtesy of the Newark Museum, The Star-Ledger and NJ.com.

The event, to be held Jan. 28 from noon to 8 pm following the “media day” at the Prudential Center, will include a beer-tasting, a cash bar, tailgate-style food as well as panel discussions led by sportswriter Jerry Izenberg, NFL Hall of Fame inductee David Robinson and other NFL veterans and notable guests. Attendees will also have the chance to view, and have their picture taken with, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
