About Me

Lia is the founding co-editor of Newark NJ Patch and serves as the newest editor of Bloomfield Patch, which she launched back in November 2010.

She graduated from CUNY Baruch College with a B.A. in journalism and minor in communications.

Prior to Patch, Lia worked at the New York Daily News for three years, covering high school sports, harness racing and serving as an overnight online news editor, with a stint as online sports editor during the New York Yankees' 2009 postseason.

Lia specializes in harness racing writing and, when not manning her Patches, can be found floating around the back paddock at the Meadowlands Racetrack or Yonkers Raceway. Every August, she serves as an advisor to the Clyde Hirt Sports Journalism Workshop for college students.

Lia's work has appeared in the New York Daily News, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Harness Eye.
