Mayoral Candidates Meeting for Town Hall Next Month
Baraka, Jeffries scheduled to attend event.
Two of three declared candidates for mayor of Newark will be taking part in a town-hall forum next month in the North Ward.
South Ward Councilman Ras Baraka and Shavar Jeffries, as associate professor at Seton Hall Law School and a former schools advisory board member, will take part. Acting Council President Anibal Ramos is not scheduled to participate.
The event, which will include a Q and A with the public and the media, will be held Aug. 7 at 6:30 pm at First Avenue School, 214 First Ave. There will also be a meet-and-greet with light refreshments afterwards.
