2014 Super Bowl Media Day Coming to Newark

Prudential Center hosting popular game week event

The 2014 NFL Super Bowl is coming to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. But Brick City will be sharing a bit of the spotlight for the nation’s premiere sporting event too.

On Jan. 28, 2014, the Prudential Center will host the game’s Media Day, the kickoff for the week of events leading up to the big game. During media day, journalists from around the world interview team players and coaches. Members of the public can purchase tickets to witness the action.

This is the first time a media day will be held away from the venue hosting the game itself.

“We are delighted to be hosting one of the preeminent Super Bowl events at the Rock,” said Jeff Vanderbeek, chairman of Devils Arena Entertainment.  “Media Day is always a great kickoff to Super Bowl Week and we intend to help make it a great fan experience.”

“We are thrilled that visitors to the region will have an opportunity to experience multiple landmarks in New Jersey, beginning with MetLife Stadium, and now extending to the Prudential Center and the Meadowlands Racetrack,” Woody Johnson, Co-Chairman of the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, said in a statement released by the office of Gov. Chris Christie.
