A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the 2011 hit-and-run death of a Maplewood man.
The Essex County Sheriff's Crimestoppers program will pay up to $5,000 for information on the death of Douglas Hodgson, 47, killed in Newark at 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2011 while he was changing a tire on his car. Hodgson was stopped on Routes 1 and 9 South when he was struck by a white 1998 Acura CL, which fled the scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Acura should have damage to the passenger front fender and mirror and a missing front passenger parking lot, Sheriff Armando Fontoura said in a press release.
